A pensioner in Portugal caused chaos in the country's second city when he took a wrong turn.
The unnamed driver couldn't even blame his mishap on a faulty sat nav system, as is so often the case, as he didn't have one and was repeatedly warned by signs that he was going the wrong way.
A Portuguese newspaper reported that the driver managed to get so lost during his first visit to the city of Oporto that he ended up driving on the underground rail network.
He took a wrong turn and found himself driving along an access road which he continued along despite there being a plethora of no entry sings.
"I didn't even know there was an underground in Oporto," the man told Portuguese daily 24 Horas.
Trains had to be suspended on the line after the pensioner was spotted cruising through one of the stations, looking bemused and slightly worried.
Eventually he abandoned his car in one of the tunnels and emergency crews were called in to remove the vehicle.
